Satisying sounds

SDN found himself in thoughtful conversation with Lager Top this week. The topic of conversation? Exactly what is a satisfying sound?

We concluded that we couldn't settle on a definitive definition, but could agree on 2 perfect examples.

The first, it seems, is the all inspiring playful slap on the arse. It seems this is equally appealing to both men and women. Now for clarity, this isn't the sought of slap that brings pain or harm to the 'slapee', rather a gentle, yet well connecting (and most likely, patronising) slap.

The second, we determined, is the 'click' you hear when the very last bit of a 'zip' bag has been sealed... You know the ones... You press the two sides of the bag together and they clip together. The satisfying sound comes right at the end of the sealing process, as the last part of the bag snaps together... Sealing in the freshness!

Sadly those were the only 2 we could think of. We did have a good chat about the possibility that popping bubble wrap was also a satisfying sound... But we decided it was the actual popping that was the satisfying part, not the sound.

So as you can see, it's been another exciting week at Shandy HQ!
