Some what late to the party, I figure giving this whole 'blogging' thing a go might be quite interesting!
So I start with my first. I can't say this is going to be a daily update, but I certainly hope I'll be doing regular posts!
We start with the weekend activities. The Shandy Drinking Northerner (or SDN as I think I'll type from now on!) made his way back North for the weekend. It was a United home game - which as usual had been 'Sky-jacked' and moved to a 17:30 kick off. Of course the game was pretty standard- we won - though there was some controversy which is always good for a laugh.
The rest of the weekend was spent catching up with family and friends. Alarmed to find that my old 'local' was having a Halloween night, and were charging a Fiver to get in! A Fiver?! Seriously!? There can't have been more than 10 people in there!! Needless to say we didn't pay. Instead went off to another old favourite for a couple of shift Lagers and planning of possible Stag Night outings. Might have done a couple of double-takes as we drove back past the 'Halloween local'; far too many 16-19 year old's in short costumes to simply ignore without second glance! I swear middle age-dom is creeping up far too early.
A Sunday drive back down south is always monotonous - this weekend was no different. Almost ran over a couple of teen Halloweeners who were blocking my car parking space on arrival back at Shandy HQ. I hate Halloween - I don't get it... why do you have to give sweets to kids who'll most likely slash your tyres or egg your house if you don't!? I don't mind some American traditions, but this is one I just can't get my head around! Besides - if Lager Top (my Finance!) won't let me have stocks of sweets and chocolate, why the hell should I buy a load to give away to kids I don't know, like or care about!? What was I saying before about middle age-dom!?
Anyway, the week starts afresh today - another working week intermixed with trips to the Gym and a trip to the theatre on Tuesday to see Lee Mack. Lager Top bought me tickets earlier in the year, and we've been looking forward to it for a while. Will no doubt post a review as and when!
