Celebrations

Turns out to have been a busy few days for the SDN.

Inter-mixed with a few rants at the rudeness and impoliteness of generic Southerners, and they're inability to say thank you or smile in acknowledgement to any kind gesture, SDN has been working and playing hard.

Work, as always, has been the usual mix of mass panic to complete work, and general boredom while waiting for the next panic moment to arrive.

Playing, has been good fun. Last weekend saw SDN and Lager Top head back north to celebrate the 60th birthday of SDNs father, Pint of Ale. The celebration took the form of a fantastic meal at a hotel, with 30+ friends and family joining Pint Of Ale to celebrate his approach to retirement. SDN even managed a little toast. Seemed to go down well... All that rehearsing proved worth while!? Good practice for the wedding if nothing else.

Speaking of weddings, SDN and Lager Top took receipt of the Rings which will seal their union next year. Can't help but think think that organizing a wedding is far easier than people make out! The sexist in me leans towards 'emotional' women being the number 1 cause of wedding organizing stress!?

The post wedding honeymoon is proving to be a bit of a challenge. They say 'the world is your oyster'. Well in this case, they're right... We've too many places we'd like to visit but not enough time (or money!).

A house warming awaits on Saturday, swiftly followed by an opportunity to win a good chunk of cash from SDNs friends, as we embark on another 12 hour poker game. The last resulted in a loss for SDN. I'm determined to make a mends this time!

Lager Top is already fretting about Christmas... In fairness we've only 4 weekends until Christmas day, and all our weekends are booked, so I can understand some of the panic... But I know that the Internet will come to the rescue! Just need to pick what to buy and let Mr Amazon et al do the rest!

Best get ordering!
